YOUTH WORKERS SEMINAR |
Capacity Building for Aboriginal Youth Workers |
"Youth who succeed will take on more challenging and leadership roles in their adulthood"
![]() |
Youth Empowerment workshops and programs are very important for our communities, even more so today, with the vast amount of information pushed upon our Youth. Youth are living in a world with so much technology, new age philosophies and fast track life styles. We see them having a tough time fitting their Aboriginal traditions and community values into their everyday life.
Most Aboriginal Communities are faced with the same struggles when it comes to youth. We must find improved solutions to prepare and equip them to make good choices. They need to become good leaders. This can be achieved by providing more tools to our workers who are with the Youth.
Youth Workers need support and regular training to help them develop and maintain successful youth programs and positive mentoring. Youth Workers can help lead Youth onto positive paths such as regular opportunities to participate in Aboriginal traditional gatherings and learning important community values.
The objective of this seminar is to gather Aboriginal Youth Workers and Coordinators, Parents and Care Givers and share best practices on guiding Youth onto positive paths.

This seminar for youth is important to me, and I developed this program, encouraged by one of my teachers and with her words: "Each person has a special gift and there is no other with this gift in this World. The Creator made especially for you to share with the People".
In my life I have struggled with my own life and learning experiences. And though it, I have always had help. Help from the Creator, my Elders and Spiritual Leaders, community helpers, etc. I realize that it is important to share knowledge and teachings with our people. It is customary. I am sharing workshops, stories I have heard throughout my life and valuable teachings to help Youth Workers with their passion to help Youth.
The information of this workshop is personal development. The workshops here will help Youth Workers, Caregivers and Parents acquire valuable tools to help their Youth get through the adversity of adolescence.
Internationally recognized people like Anthony Robbins' and his personal development program "Get the Edge", Rhonda Byrne's and her book the "Secret", plus many others inspire you change to a healthier lifestyle. They empower you with tools of staying focus and committing to a richer life.
I learned over the years, that our Native Stories & Values share the similar philosophies as modern day helpers. And if you follow the program of our Elders and their teachings, you enjoy the same results as the modern day programs.
I share similarities of the personal development programs and Native Philosophy. I am confident, after seeing the similarities, you will see our Elders as the greatest "Knowledge Keepers" and "Spiritual Guides". We need to spend more time with our Elders and learn the teachings or it will all be lost! This is a message I will encourage all through the seminar.
