Celebrations the Story, is a powerful presentation and workshop featuring the Life and History of Native People of Canada.

Celebrations the Story, transcends knowledge from the beginning of time, to 500 hundred years of existence, to the present day life to empower native people.

This presentation shares over 20 years of research and work into the customs of native people.  Through the medium of storytelling, participants will learn about the ancient and modern day native legends, drumming and songs.

Participants are called to learn more about creation, life, death, relationships, rights of passages and the medicine wheel teachings from a holistic and traditional-based spectrum.

This one-day workshop is powerful, theatrical and an entertaining event created to nourish life in a positive way. This program invites the participants to create goals and stay committed to their success.  Once goals are achieved, we teach participants to celebrate their successes every day to ensure commitment to success.

Learn to live well and celebrate your life!

Background

In the Native culture, we believe a good story can reveal purpose, passion and empower us as a people.  Celebrations the Story is a workshop using the art of storytelling.  It is very important to remember this art of storytelling; the elders carried us through many hard times with stories.  It is our guide to ceremony, leaders, human development, good governance, good relationships and the Creator!

The Elders say that every person has a role and responsibility.  Today, we need to remember this valued principle and start building our communities through individual efforts that will inspire the entire community.  Remembering your purpose and believing in it will create a passion for life! The fire inside that gives you the desire to use the gifts the Creator has blessed you with - this will inspire the people around you.

Participants

Celebrations: The Story Workshop is targeted at people who are ready to change their lives. Ideally, participants would be drawn from these groups:

  • Leaders, Educators and Helpers from the Aboriginal community who want to inspire their community members
  • Youth who have a committed interest in improving their lives and the lives of those around them;
  • Community members who feel stuck and want to inject change and energy into their life; and
  • Non-Aboriginal people who want a deeper understanding of Aboriginal history and culture.
